The 12th of January Led Zeppelin's debut album is released in Britain and the Melody Maker rewived it as"...this Zeppelin is really in a gas new bag!..."

The Beatles is performing on the roof Apple Studios(London), for the last time in public, filmed for the Let It Be movie.(January 30)

In february John and Yoko had their Amsterdam Bed-In protest to protest the Vietnam war and rumours of the Beatles split and that Paul McCartney was dead was spreading.

In March Jim Morrison of the Doors is arrested for exposing himself during a show at Miami's Dinner Key Auditorium..

Blind Faith was formed with Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker from the Cream and Stevie Winwwod from Traffic.

Peter Frampton left the Herd and formed Humble Pie together with ex. Samll Faces member Steve Marriott.

Jimi Hendrix was on an downward spiral, arrested at Toronto International Airport for heroin possession(released on $10,000 bond)

Brian Jones left the Rolling Stones and a few weeks later(July 3) he was found dead in his swimming pole, at the age of 27. The Rolling Stones free concert at Hyde Park, 5th of July became a memorial concert in Brian's name. Other bands that played that day was, King Crimson(playing Court Of The Crimson King, 21st Century Schizoid Man), Family and others..

Also in July: Felix Pappalardi & Leslie West form Mountain and in the 21th of July Neil Armstrong was the first man on the moon at 2:56:15 AM (GMT), David Bowie's musical career begins with his debut single "Space Oddity" and it was the BBC theme song for the television coverage of the moon landing...

In August two historical festivals was held: Woodstock(15,16 and 17th) and the Isle of Wight festival(30th and 31st) and Jethro Tull released the album "Stand Up"

In October some important album is released: the Beatles "Abbey Road", Led Zeppelin II, Pink Floyd's "Ummagumma" and King Crimson's "In the Court of the Crimson King"

In Sweden Pugh Rogefledt released his groundbreaking album "Ja dä ä dä"(Yes it is it) together with George Wadenius(Made in Sweden) on guitar and Jan Karlsson(Hansson & Karlsson) on drums

The decade ended with the Hells Angels killing of a black man during the free concert at the Altamont Speedway in California...300,000 attended to see: Santana, Jefferson Airplane, Flying Burrito Brothers, Crosby, Stills and Nash and Rolling Stones
